境町は茨城県の南西部、関東平野のほぼ中央に位置している、利根川の豊かな水の流れと緑あふれる田園都市です。
利根川を挟むと千葉県野田市に面しており、利根川流域に形成された沖積地帯と、洪積台地からなりたちます。
太平洋側の気候を特徴とし、冬季の降雪は少なく過ごしやすい地域です。
平成27年3月には圏央道境古河ICが開通し、県内・県外共にアクセスが容易になりました。

Sakai Town is a garden city with abundant water flow and greenery of the Tone River, located in the southwestern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, almost in the center of the Kanto Plain. 
It faces Noda City, Chiba Prefecture across the Tone River, and consists of an alluvial zone formed in the Tone River basin and a diluvial upland. 
Characterized by the Pacific climate, it is a comfortable area with little snowfall in winter.

境町は水と深い関りを持ち、江戸時代には鬼怒川、利根川、江戸川などを利用した水運の拠点「境河岸」が作られ、江戸と奥州を結ぶ河岸の町として発展しました。
古くは縄文時代の頃から沿岸部には人が住んでいた形跡があり、その形跡は今でも住居跡や貝塚、古墳などの遺跡から伺い知ることができます。

それぞれの楽しみ方に合わせた観光ができるのが境町の特徴です。
利根川境河川付近堤防は「富士山と城と川」を同時に楽しむ風景を撮影できる「関東の富士見百景」として、撮影スポットには多くの撮影客が集まります。
自然を体で楽しみたい場合は、利根・渡良瀬サイクリングコースで利根川の風景を楽しみながらサイクリングをすることができます。
休憩時には「道の駅さかい」で地ビールや地元の農産物を味わうのも良いでしょう。
歴史民俗資料館では、昔の境町を知る事ができる資料が多く展示されています。

【さしま茶】
　日本で最初に海外へ輸出された日本茶として有名なお茶です。
　1859年の日米就航通称条約が発効された際にアメリカへ輸出されました。

【レタス】
　境町はレタスの銘産地として、昭和59年に茨城県の「青果物銘柄産地育成総合推進事業」により銘　　　
   柄産地として指定されています。

【ねぎ】
   境町のねぎの生産量は茨城県内で第3位となっています。柔らかくて甘い味わいが特徴です。

【トマト】
   夏娘(なつっこ)トマトが名産で、5月下旬から6月下旬をピークに出荷されています。
   糖度と酸味のバランスが良く美味しいトマトです。

   Promotion Project" in Ibaraki Prefecture.

【Leek】
   The production of green onions in Sakai Town is the third largest in Ibaraki Prefecture.
    It is characterized by its soft and sweet taste.

【Tomato】
    Natsukko tomatoes are a specialty and are shipped from late May to late June.
    A delicious tomato with a good balance of sugar content and acidity.
